  Chacha Chachi Chandra Dhaba , located in the remote and rugged village of Batal in the Lahaul-Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, India, is not just a place to grab a meal but a testament to human warmth and resilience in one of the most challenging terrains of the Himalayas. This small, unassuming dhaba, run by the elderly couple affectionately known as Chacha and Chachi, has become a beloved sanctuary for travelers, bikers, and trekkers braving the treacherous routes to Spiti Valley and Chandratal Lake.   Perched at an altitude of around 4,000 meters, the dhaba offers simple yet hearty meals that are a lifesaver in this harsh environment. The menu typically includes North Indian staples like dal (lentils), rice, chapati (flatbread), and subzi (vegetables), along with tea and snacks that provide much-needed warmth and energy. So, what is Thukpa ? Thukpa is a soul-warming noodle soup known for its rich, savory broth and the delightful medley of ingredients it encompasses. During my visit to Spiti Valley last year, thukpa was a go-to comfort food that bought warmth and satisfaction especially during the colder days.
